Artist Statement
I began creating jewellery after seeing an exhibit of ancient Sumerian treasures. The hair ornaments, rings and neckpieces--all dripping with carnelian and lapis lazuli--kept secrets both intimate and mysterious. Personal adornment became my obsession and I quickly progressed from stringing beads to working with precious metal wire.
For me, the creative process usually begins with a gemstone's shape or colour. I then decide on a gauge of wire to work with, whether I want a bold or delicate treatment. Often an idea becomes a drawn-out bout of insomnia, and if I'm lucky, a beautiful piece of art results.
My jewelry embraces the philosophy of 'casual luxury'; effortless chic no matter what one is wearing. My designs are wearable art for everyday situations as much as life's special celebrations.
The bulk of my work is one-of-a-kind or limited edition to ensure ultra-exclusivity. These are pieces that will draw admiration, open conversations, and wrap you in years of luxury.
